Action against Medical Accidents (AvMA) is
an independent charity which supports people who have been affected by a
medical accident.
We have offices in Oxford, Abingdon and Thame but act
for people all over the world.
What do we do?
The Team has vast experience of advising and assisting
patients and families in coming to terms with the consequences of poor
healthcare. We obtain compensation to reflect suffering, reimburse financial
losses and help fund much needed treatment, therapies, care and equipment.
We also recognise the concerns that many patients and
families have about bringing these claims and that, often, compensation is
not the primary aim. We can help in trying to obtain an explanation for what
has gone wrong and to bring mistakes to the attention of the people in charge
so that, hopefully, other patients will not suffer in the same way.
The Team will guide you expertly through the various
legal avenues available. We have experience in dealing with all types of
medical accidents, for all ages of patient and for the whole range of
compensation awards; whether it is a few thousand pounds or a multi-million
pound claim.
Our service does not stop with the award of
compensation. We work with you to ensure that your compensation does not
affect your entitlement to any benefits you might be receiving. We also
assist in organising the carers, therapists, aids and equipment that can make
all the difference.
