The Team handles all areas of medicine:
obstetrics and
gynaecology, cardiology, all types of
surgery,
neurology, ophthalmology, nursing care, dentistry,
oncology
and cancer,
orthopaedics and
accident
and emergency, anaesthesia, ear nose and throat and
general practice.
The Team also handles cases involving chiropractors, physiotherapists,
osteopaths and alternative medicine.
All of the Team are members of the Association of Personal
Injury Lawyers and subscribes to the AvMA lawyers support service.
Tracy Norris-Evans
(Partner)
Tracy heads the Medical Accidents Team. She deals with cases across the
whole spectrum of clinical negligence although her main area of interest is
accidents at birth, especially cerebral palsy cases. Tracy has particular
expertise in dealing with the Court of Protection. She works closely with
trust colleagues, case managers, therapists and other professionals in a
multi-disciplinary approach to maximise the potential of any compensation
award. She has recovered nearly £20 million in compensation for
clients.
Immediate Past President of the Berks,
Bucks & Oxon Law Society and former Chairperson of Oxford and District
Solicitors Association, Tracy is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine
and a member of the Oxford Medico-Legal Society.
Richard Coleman
(Partner)
Richard joined the Team from Boyes Turner, Reading and is one of only a few
solicitors to be on both of the Law Society’s specialist panels for clinical
negligence and personal injury and also AVMA's specialist clinical negligence
panel.
Richard has been helping clients recover compensation for medical accidents
since 1995. He has a very broad range of experience involving all areas of
medicine and has particular expertise in Erb’s Palsy, oncology, cardiac and
GP cases.
Richard has been involved in two of the largest injury compensation awards so
far made in Europe although he handles claims of all values. Richard is a
member of the College of Personal Injury Law and also the Treasurer of the
Oxford Medico-Legal Society.
Judith Leach (Barrister)
Judith
has worked in defendant medical negligence and was previously in-house
counsel for the Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals NHS Trust at the John Radcliffe
Hospital. Having previously trained as a nurse and midwife, Judith
specialised in intensive care nursing. She has an in-depth up to date
knowledge of both the NHS and private health care providers and has
maintained her registration in general nursing. Judith has specialised in
health law since 1996.
Judith is a committee member of the Oxford
Medico-Legal Society.
