TYPES OF CLAIM

 Surgery

·        Failure to carry out appropriate pre-operative checks such as blood coagulation,
       history/presence of infection and previous surgery and manage any risks accordingly

·        Failure to carry our adequate post-operative monitoring

·        Failure to notice damage to surrounding structures and/or excessive bleeding during
       surgery and acting accordingly

·        Delay to diagnose need for surgery and delay in performing surgery

·        Inappropriate surgery

·        (In some cases) damage to surrounding nerves, organs and other structures

·        Failure to remove swabs and other artefacts

·        Failure to adequately warn of risks/complications of surgery
