COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS
These are agreements entered into between Trade Unions and Employers for the purposes of giving guidance on certain areas of the employment relationship between an employer and an employee. Although the document itself is not legally binding, the terms of such an agreement can be incorporated into an individual employment contract. Matters normally covered by such agreements include remuneration, benefits, overtime, holidays and working conditions. They can be a useful tool in encouraging harmony in industries where large sections of the workforce are unionised.
